Summary: We thought we'd treat ourselves for New Year's at a nice ocean view resort. Unfortunately, this is not a resort, at least not in the winter time. Not even any breakfast available anywhere on their extensive campus, even in the one restaurant that was open. That restaurant was noisy (despite only a few people) because it adjoins a games arcade. No ambiance, and yet regular restaurant prices. When we arrived, we were only the second party there for dinner, yet they sat us right next to the other party, which was literally a kids' birthday party. We had to ask to move. Only 2 luggage carts for two buildings. Erratic heating and air conditioning. Dated decor, few hooks or towel racks in the bathroom, and yet they charged a $59 resort fee on top of their already higher than usual hotel room charge. And when we tried to watch the ball come down in Times Square, the TV couldn't get that channel (or most other channels either). Gulfport was nice, this hotel not so much!
