This family house has the advantage of a private beach and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, carob trees and olive trees. The area is very quiet, the only sound you can hear is the waves breaking on the coast.
The building
Gordeli Private Paradise (80 square meters) can host 2-6 people, ideal for two couples or a family or a group of 2-6 friends. A two-storey house with two seperate bedrooms, one on each floor. Every part of the house has a breathtaking, panoramic view of the Aegean Sea. A trail of steps gives direct access to the sea.
The ground floor includes a kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a bedroom overlooking the blue waters. The bedroom has a double-bed and a single-bed with romantic mosquito nets.The kitchen has hot plates, a coffee maker and a refrigerator. There are a barbecue and a handmade wood-fired oven outside the kitchen suitable for traditioned type of cooking. Further, for baking or cooking, you can use natural sea salt from nearby salt pans. At the front of the house there is a large veranda with a wooden dining table offering amazing views over the sea. In the east yard of the house there are two sunbeds.
The upper level has a cozy wooden bedroom and a balcony with panoramic views. The perfect spot to watch the sunrise emerging from the deep blue sea over breakfast or have a romantic dinner under the moonlight. This bedroom has a double bed, a single bed and a sofa that can be easily converted into a third bed.
The house also has an outdoor shower next to the main terrace, as well as a parking space ten meters away from the house. With respect for nature, Gordeli also uses renewable energy sources. A photovoltaic system generates its own electricity which is used to illuminate the entire property.
Last one kilometer to the house is kind of steep as you descend with your car from 200m altitude to sea level. We have accommodate hundreds of guests, most of them feel comfortable with a typical car, some of them would prefer a 4x4 car. Either way driving must be with caution and slow speed. We are always drive you there to show you the way to the house as long as the way of driving.
Activities
The house is within 10 minutes driving distance from traditional Cretan taverns in Drapanos village which serve fresh local seafood, roοster with spagetti, wild goat with traditional rice etc. The place is suitable for diving, snorkeling, swimming and exploration of the Peristeres Cave(meaning pigeons nest) by canoe. You can also explore and find the path for Agios Georgios old church on the Gordeli's hill.
