Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The villa was very welcoming and comfortable. Everything we needed was there and the hosts could not have been more welcoming, they provided food for the first part of our stay and even cooked dinner for us on the first night - it was more like visiting family than renting a villa, and the villa is also their winter home. The pool was great, and the seating area next to the pool has a toilet, great for changing after a swim. The kitchen was very well equipped and we even had some of the hosts' own grown olive oil to cook with. They came every 2/3 days to clean the pool, water the gardens and feed the cats. The cats, although there were quite a few, were very well behaved and we didn't see a single mouse while we were there, even though the villa is quite rural. The village was only a couple of km away, so we used the Kolymbos taverna a few times for dinner, and Vryses is only a few km down the road, so handy for shopping. I can't praise the hosts enough, they were so welcoming and hospitable, their friendliness and consideration for us made the holiday. We were very sad to be leaving.

Negative: Not so much didn't like as took a bit of getting used to - the road to the villa is quite rural and currently unmade, but was easily driven once I got used to it and it's not that long, and the sun moves round off the pool early afternoon, however, it was warm even not in the sun so comfortable. The drive is quite steep so needed a bit of a run in through the gate but, again, easily negotiated after a day of doing it.
