Positive: Perfect location, clean modern and private apartment.

Negative: Advertised terms and conditions in booking.com (re deposit and cancellation policy) become redundant once the booking is confirmed. The real estate agent then contacted me separately requiring immediate 50% deposit and no cancellation (contrary to the booking.com listing of free cancellation up to a certain time beforehand, and no deposit). Garage not available for use (locked and filled with owner's property) and not able to close the property's gate for secure parking. The pool is advertised as private, which is far from the truth. The pool is actually shared with the other half of the duplex property, and is out the front of the property next to the road. The owners have apparently 'disconnected' the air conditioning, I suspect this is just a cost saving measure of only hiding the remote from tenants, which is disappointing considering the cost per night, and the location's climate (we were there mid summer). Midway through our stay one of the external lights fell off the side of the house and the glass cover smashed in the pool, meaning the pool was unable to be used until drained and cleaned (after we left). I have not been offered any compensation for this, and I'd assume the use of the pool is a contributing factor to the high rental cost. This could have been avoided with normal maintenance and inspections, it was clear that the other external lights were also perished and close to failure. Minor complaint, the owner has password locked all the streaming apps on the smart tv so we couldn't use Netflix (my account, not the owner's) etc.
