The Kalang River is known for its fishing appeal. It does have a few Fishing Tournaments such as
Putting Bennet in January
Flathead Tournament in November
But you don’t need a Tournament to fish, or see the occasional dolphin swimming around.
Kayaking around Newry Island is a popular weekend treat for some as is using a SUP. In February there is a Dragon Boat race around the island called Kalang River Classic.
RESTAURANTS
Anchors Restaurant is on the Wharf in Urunga and overlooks the river with the very best views. The venue is absolutely stylish-modern. It menu has been said to be exquisite seafood with all the famous classics. An excellent location for that special celebration or romantic dinner.
In the afternoon, You could just go for a few beers or grab that well deserved Coffee and Cake.
